joy of light | wedding

Here we are at the same location as one week earlier. But look how amazingly different the light is at the exact same just three ours apart. I am amazed how different light is every day. Why am I talking about light? Because light is my profession and only with light all the beauty of the world is made visible. Only light has the possibility to make everything beautiful. And I must confess I just love the different light names, rimlight, flashlight, naturallight… oh so sweet words. But as pictures tell more than thousand words, enjoy the georgeous light and then not less amazing people captured by us.

colorful season | e.session

I like autumn. When the trees start to change their colors, the fog makes the days a little mysterious and you start pulling out the warm clothes out of the closet (I’m a freezer so I take them out pretty early) it’s also the perfect time to cuddle up and set up your e.session. These two sweet people just did so and we enjoyed a lovely time capturing the change of the nature and pretty soon they will have their own transformation into husband and wife.

wedding trends

I am a visual person. I totally get inspired by seeing other photographers work and how they see the world. Therefore I visit many blogs frequently for inspiration and what I see on my favorite blogs blows my mind. Mostly I check American blogs because I think they influence our wedding industry the most (I know there are tons of wonderful photographers all over the world too). Altough I have to admit that I think that most Swiss wedding couples really can learn a lot about event planning and make a mind-blowing celebrations. So I decided to post a few things I really think people should adopt and start doing here too (or more frequently):

1. wear colorful shoes with your dress
why not? I think it makes an amazing contrast to the white dress and it’s just beyond cool to match your shoes with your wedding theme color.

2. opt for SMALL flowers for the groom
aren’t these herbal flowers just the cutest. And they are way more sturdy than the usual rose.

3. wear a veil
Really wear one. Not only for the amazing photographs I can then take of you…
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="745" caption="Tim Will"]www.timwill.com[/caption]

4. have people tossing crap at you
let your guests toss confetti, rice, bubbles or anything else fun at you. It just looks amazing on pictures.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="600" caption="Angelica Glass"]www.angelicaglass.com[/caption]

5. go with an unusal color scheme
why not combine grey&orange, pink&black, yellow&white, or turquoise&lightgreen…
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="650" caption="greenwedding shoes"]greenweddingshoes.blogspot.com[/caption]

6. do cool invites
Really let someone create them for you and don’t throw your money out of the window in the hobby store… get them done nicely with style
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="beautiful paper"]beautifulpaper.typepad.com[/caption]

7. have nice guest favors
you don’t have to spend a fortune. You can make them yourselves, who doesn’t like a yummy yam?
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="405" caption="eatdrinkchic"]www.eatdrinkchic.com[/caption]

8. serve special cocktails
a cocktail in your wedding color looks just amazing and makes sure people have something to talk about
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="jomygoodness.typepad.com"]jomygoodness.typepad.com[/caption]

9. just do table seating
let people decide themselves next to whom they want to sit, just define table names
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="650" caption="greenweddingshoes.blogspot.com"]greenweddingshoes.blogspot.com[/caption]

10. have personal cake toppers
the cake is the final highlight of the wedding and personal cake toppers are just the hit.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="650" caption="greenweddingshoes.blogspot.com"]greenweddingshoes.blogspot.com[/caption]

11. have guiding signs
they do not only look nice they are also helpful and easy to create
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="600" caption="www.oncewed.com"]www.oncewed.com[/caption]

12. have a dessert buffet
I love desserts so does my husband, so we really urge you to have a dessert buffet. And like this it does just look gorgeous
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="670" caption="www.ourblogoflove.com"]www.ourblogoflove.com[/caption]

13. have a personal guest signature book
they do not only look awesome and your guests will rave about your beautiful pictures captured during the e.session. They are also another lasting memory of your wedding day.
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="800" caption="www.photobolic.com"]www.photobolic.com[/caption]

14. have a day after session/trash the dress
I believe your wedding clothes are way to beautiful to be only worn once. Create something you will treasure forver in creating wedding art during a day after/trash the dress shooting.

… i have many more ideas & inspiration to share, just ask me if you would like to get some more inspiration…

lake thun | wedding

I adore the region of Bern. I grew up in this beautiful canton and just really love it from the bottom of my heart and am very proud to be Bernese (actually only half, my mom comes from Appenzell which I am also proud to be a half Appenzelloise). One of the most beautiful places in my opinion is Lake Thun. The lake surrounded by such an amazing mountain scenery is really worth a visit or an often revisit. So everytime I get hired to shoot a wedding in this area I enjoy the glorious environment as much as the actual wedding. This couple celebrated their marriage at the border of Lake Thun in Spiez. And what else can you say than stunning?
